Tormento de la Virginia
Three-Time World Champion Great Sire of Sires

estilo de vida

The idea was to find a horse model that would stand out as a great breeder as well as a great champion. On February 11th of 1999 at the breeding farm, Criadero la Virginia, the goal was achieved after a restless, dark colt was born. This was the result after breeding a great
champion, Patrimonio del Ocho to an excellent mare, Tormenta del Desierto.

His first performance at a Grade A Paso Fino competition was at the mere age of 38 months when Tormento is named Grand Champion in Bogota, Colombia in 2003. In that same year, at age of 57 months, Tormento won his first World Paso Fino Championship in Medellin.
In 2003, when he ws 49 months old, Tormento was crowned National Grand Champion at the exposition fair Class A in the capital of Colombia. During that same year, he was named World Grand Champion at the IV World Championship of the Paso Horses in Medellin.

Continuing his winning tradition, Tormento de la Virginia became world champion two more times in a row, 2005 in Puerto Rico and 2007 in the United States. It is worth noting that during those championships, Tormento was named “Fuera de Concurso” at the Colombian expositions. Tormento’s most recent awards were achieved at the Confepaso Mundial that took place in Pereira, Colombia in November of 2009.

He was named Best Stallion in his category of 77 months and over, and showed the fans the dominant genetic makeup he transmits to his offspring: Mito del Libano, Guerrero del Guadual, and the World Champion Tormento de la Guajira as well as Española de Normandia also Grand Champion mare and fillies. Tormento de la Virginia was named Reserved Grand Champion at the same event. This was a head to head competition against none other than against Tormento de la Guajira, his son.
